To become a dental hygienist in Arkansas, a license must be obtained by the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners. Applicants must complete the following information to receive a license:
State Board Application – A completed signed and notarized application should be submitted along with all supporting material.
National Board Exam Card – A scorecard showing at least a 75% minimum score on the National Board Exam must be sent from the National Board. Copies are not accepted.
Transcripts and Dental Hygiene Diploma – A transcript showing grades from a school accredited by the American Dental Association must be sent directly from the school. CPR Certification Card – All dental hygienists in Arkansas must be current on their CPR certification.
Fee – A check or money order for $100 needs to be included with the application.
Proof of Completion of a Nitrous Course – Proof that a Board approved Nitrous course was completed should be included with the application.
Completion of Jurisprudence Exam – A successful score on the Arkansas Jurisprudence Exam is required to be licensed as a dental hygienist in Arkansas.
Completion of a Clinical Examination – A minimum score of 75% is required for the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners Clinical Examination.
